Counselling Services

Birthing is instinctual and natural but doesn’t always run smoothly for everyone.  Sometimes it can be confusing and overwhelming with the amount of generic information, commercial messaging, conflicting advise and so many options.

We at  BirthSense™ want to ensure that you feel heard, understand your unique story and offer a holistic perspective that will help you work out what you need. Offering one on one counselling sessions for various stages of your journey from pre-conception till postpartum.

We will spend about 30-40 mins together over a video conference call with the objective of:

• Getting to know you and your story from the start of your pregnancy till date. 
• Understanding your expectations and wishes for this pregnancy and this baby 
• Looking into your diet, lifestyle, state of mind, support systems  and more
• Clinical history, medical considerations, choice of medical care provider. 
• Discussing what you need in-order to feel prepared, confident and supported. 
• Making a plan for way forward
• Get to know what we offer and how we can help.

It is highly recommended to do this along with your partner or other companions

Fees: Rs.1500/- (deductible from fees for the doula support package)  

We will spend about an hour together with the objective of:

• Understanding how you have been
• Birth story debrief
• How have the early days been for you and the baby
• What are your support systems 
• Your daily routine : sleep, diet, activity, emotional state etc.
• Your baby's routine: sleep, feeding patterns, pee, poop, activity etc.
• Breastfeeding concerns
• If possible, observe a feeding session
• Discuss observations, suggest strategies that can help and way forward
• Available to help you transition for next 2 weeks.

It is highly recommended to do this along with your partner or other companions 

This session can be done either online or as an in-person home visit

Fees: 

• Rs.2,000/- for online via video meeting
• Rs. 2,500/- for home visit + conveyance - for Bangalore only 

(This counselling is already included in the doula support package)

Please note that if your issues are beyond the scope of our work we will refer you to a specialised Consultant for clinical support.
